Crawling out from under...

Hello sweet ladies! I've been missing in action the last few months but I think I may have returned to the land of the bloggers. I'm feeling reenergized and ready to try and get some creative juices flowing again.

On June 4th I had reconstructive surgery on my left foot and the aftermath was rather... ummm... painful to say the least. I took short-term disability so I could stay home and recuperate because I wasn't allowed to put any weight on the foot for the next 10 weeks. I had expected to spend the whole time I was off doing lots of handwork... my Bead Journal Project specifically and then maybe some work on my Midsummer CQ. However, me being me, the stress of the surgery had my IBS flaring constantly so pretty much all I did was curl up in my recliner and feel like crawling in a hole and pulling the hole in after me. When I'm sick I can't create, all I can do is watch TV and maybe do some reading. It's so annoying!! ;0) I've seen a couple bloggers work while laid up at home and I'm so envious! Gah!

Anyway... here are some before and after xrays for your viewing pleasure:
Before

After

I have high hopes of actually getting out this fall and walking through the neighborhood. I haven't been able to walk very far for quite some time. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Nothing creative to show you in this post... just wanted to let you know I didn't disappear into the ether. I've been reading your blogs but only commenting occasionally. There is so much happening out there... it's good to be back!

Very very VERY glad to see you back here, Marty. Looks like the surgery was a complete success...I've heard foot surgery is super painful, but I know this will be worth it in the end.
I just finished the Steig Larson trilogy, "Girl with the Dragon Tatoo", etc. It was so absorbing!!! You might give them a try while you're still taking it easy...

Good to have you back again, Marty! Nothing like happy feet to keep you happy, but I’m so sorry you had to go through all the pain and suffering. Maybe we can go walking together in Connecticut in April! :-) Continue to get better, and I’m sure you’ll be creating again in no time. Big, gentle hugs, Cathy

Hi Marty,

We have times away - we need them. Then we appreciate things even more when we come back. :)

Glad you are feeling better.

Love

I am glad you are back and the second x-ray sure looks good compared to the first. wonderful what they can do in surgery these days. Now they just have to figure a way to do things painlessly for recovery.

I think when your feet hurt everything hurts.

Hugs

Wow Marty. You really did need surgery! I hope since I'm a few weeks late reading this that you have begun to walk around and build up your strength. Don't worry about the lack of productivity...healing takes me work than we realize. SO glad that it's over with for now. I imagine you'll be struttin' your stuff in no time. lots of love, Susan

Well wishes from a Florida gal! I hope your foot is healing and you'll be back making pretty fiber art soon. I LOVE your creations, they're gorgeous! Do you have an internet supplier for all those gorgeous beeds you use for flowers and leaves (as in your Titania quilt)? I live in a small town and there isnt much like that around these parts ..
Miss ya - Come back soon!
